Within a stone’s throw of Hilton Playa del Carmen’s beach is the ferry dock, where you can catch a ride to the world-famous cruise destination Cozumel. The island is legendary for crystal-clear water and the Mesoamerican Reef–which runs for 600 miles along the coast of the Yucatán–provides some of the Caribbean’s most spectacular snorkeling and diving. Visit Chankanaab, an eco-park that is home to dolphins, sea turtlesand  manatees.

One of Playa del Carmen’s main attractions is La Quinta Avenida (Fifth Avenue) a pedestrian walkway with a dazzling array of stores, restaurants and nightlife. Stroll in and out of the eclectic boutiques and shops, chat with the locals and find unique souvenirs for everyone on your list.

If you want to infuse your beach vacation with some adrenaline-pumping action and adventure, visit Xplor park, less than six miles south of the resort. Jungle adventure is the main offering; go zip-lining nearly 150 feet above the ground, take a rumbling drive in an amphibious vehicle, walk through ancient caverns and go rafting on underground rivers.
