You’re a parent, so wherever you go, you more than likely arm yourself with a huge bag of tricks to keep your kids in a good mood. If you’ve made the choice to plan a memorable and amazing Caribbean beach vacation as a family, then you probably also did some research into the gamut of kids’ clubs and hotels with babysitting services. But what should you do with your time together, in order to create lasting warm and fuzzy family vacation memories? Never fear, we’ve got you covered. Here are some great activities for an awesome family vacation in The Caribbean.
Swim with Stingrays
What will you find at Stingray City in the Cayman Islands? We’ll give you one guess. Here, you and your kids can spend the day swimming up close and personal with dozens of stingrays that make their home on this shallow sandbar. According to Stingray City’s website, “Stingrays at the sand bar weigh about 150 lbs. and are approximately five feet in width.” So prepare your kids for a thrill, and bring your waterproof camera.
Commune with the Animals
Do you have a future zoologist in your brood? Or just an animal lover or two? The whole family will love getting up close to exotic animals in their natural habitat at the Barbados Wildlife Reserve in St. Peter, Barbados. Parrots, flamingos, green monkeys, giant tortoises, and more wander free and wild (although snakes are kept in cages) in a beautiful and rare mahogany forest.
Visit a Volcano
Sulphur Springs Park in St. Lucia is the Caribbean’s only drive-up volcano. That means that even if your little ones have little legs that can’t take on a challenging hike, they can still see the sites and tell their friends at home that they went to see a volcano! 30-minute tours mean nobody gets bored, and there are also geothermal springs and mud baths you can stay and take a soak in. It’s hard to think of a more memorable family experience so enjoy your perfect family vacation in The Caribbean.
