Absolute luxury meets chill ambiance in this secluded resort with endless privileges, butler service and a true get-away-from-it-all experience.
Zoëtry Agua Punta Cana is a lush property that welcomes everybody but seems more geared toward couples—staff even says “Welcome home” upon your arrival. This resort features a private beach that doesn’t have the blaring music and haranguing peddlers often seen in resort areas. While children are welcome, there are few incentives for them here. Pool areas aren’t crowded and tend to be on the quieter side.
Suites and bedrooms are splendorous, with rustic, luxurious décor. Soaking tubs and rainfall showers in the bathrooms only sweeten the experience, which often includes terraces and a treehouse feel. The spa and fitness center are full-service and stunning, offering many classes and services—plus you receive a complimentary 20-minute wellness treatment. Between 24-hour room service and a limited guest count (only 96 suites in total), on-site eateries are rarely crowded, with five restaurants to choose from offering European, international, Caribbean and Italian cuisines. Drinks are included and feature top-shelf spirits all the way. Outdoor activities like kayaking, yoga, snorkeling and cooking classes are included in the all-inclusive package but for an additional cost you can golf, horseback ride and fish.
Since the allure of Zoëtry Agua Punta Cana is its remoteness, it’s a given that most off-site activities require a drive (cabs or car rentals are readily available). For those willing to take a trek for some local culture, the town of Higuey features local restaurants, crafts and a famous church. A small shopping strip is somewhat closer.
When it comes to natural wonders, the area offers incredible possibilities. The Blue Hole cenote is a marvel of a diving spot or the more adventurous can sign up for an ocean journey to the nearby islands of Catalina and Saona, with coral reefs and limestone cliffs adding to the unforgettable scenery. Eco-tours and off-road ATV adventures are also easily arranged and within 30-60 minutes away. And then there’s Scape Park, a place that combines ocean, caverns and rainforests for a one-of-a-kind natural theme park destination. The hotel also has packages for a few rounds at the Cocotal Golf Course for those who want to get on the green.
