  • Creative Writing & Nutrition, MiraCosta College
  • Culinary Explorer | True Romantic | Global Nomad

About:

A budget traveler turned wellness-focused writer, Taylor found her way into travel writing after getting unexpectedly stuck in Croatia during the pandemic. Since then, she’s embraced the digital nomad (or slomad) lifestyle—slow traveling through places like Mexico and Italy, diving deep into local culture, community, and of course, celiac-friendly eats. With a background in yoga and a passion for holistic health, her stories often spotlight wellness retreats, nourishing travel experiences, and destinations that make gluten-free living feel effortless.

Her work appears in publications like Vacayou Wellness Travel, Wellness in Travel and Tourism, TravelAwaits, VICE, and GetYourGuide, where she brings a soulful approach to exploring the world.

Highlights:

  • Revived multiple digital travel magazines from the ground up through SEO strategy and content creation, including BookRetreats and Vacayou Wellness Travel
  • Audits wellness resorts for Wellness in Travel and Tourism, helping ensure properties deliver on their promises and steer clear of greenwashing
  • Solopreneur and travel coach, where she helps aspiring freelance writers and digital nomads build location-independent lives

Education:

Taylor studied Creative Writing and Nutrition at MiraCosta College in Cardiff, CA, where she also earned her 500-hour yoga teacher certification.

Favorite Destinations:

  • Mexico – For the indigenous culture, tacos, mezcal, and year-round sunshine. It’s also one of the most gluten-free-friendly countries I’ve explored.
  • Italy – I fell in love with Rome during film school, and now I’m forever chasing that perfect tiny espresso. With a law requiring restaurants to offer gluten-free options, Italy is a celiac’s dream—especially with an Aperol spritz in Trastevere.
  • Croatia – My first solo trip and the place I launched my freelance writing career. I wandered the coast for months, eventually landing in Split, where I met lifelong friends and found the courage to keep going.
  • Japan – The most fun I’ve ever had while traveling. One day might include a zen garden stroll, onigiri lunch, sake and sushi dinner, a stop at a Japanese listening bar, and a wander through Golden Gai—all topped off with a late-night arcade visit.

Fun Facts:

  • Traveled around Iceland in a camper van—and once lived in a van full-time, selling pizza at music festivals across nearly all 50 U.S. states.
  • Got stung by a jellyfish in Costa Rica (ouch).
  • Wrote, directed, and starred in a short film while studying in Rome.
  • Adopted a street dog from Mexico who now tags along on her adventures.
