Calling all pink flamingo lovers, we’ve got the job for you: CFO of Baha Mar in the Bahamas, no finance experience needed. The brand new $4.2 million mega resort is adding a Chief Flamingo Officer to their list of new hires in anticipation of the property’s resident flock of flamingos debuting this spring.
Some Job Qualifications Needed
While flocking with the birds makes for a pretty sweet nine-to-five gig, the right candidate should be schooled in zoology or a related field and have at least five years’ experience working with exotic birds. Because the resort caters to eco-learning and conservation of the environment, the candidate will also need strong communication and people skills to provide an interactive experience for the guests, especially those part of the Baha Mar Explorer’s Club for kids which has a heavy focus on marine life.
Joining the Baha Mar Animal Family
The flamingo is the national bird of the Bahamas and, at Baha Mar, will receive royal treatment at the “Flamingo Mansion,” a sanctuary for the birds, featuring both indoor-outdoor, and aquatic and dry areas. The flamingos join other resident marine animals at the resort, all part of the Baha Mar Ecological, Aquatic Conservation Habitat Sanctuary, or BEACH Sanctuary, dedicated to preserving the wildlife of the Bahamas. Other residents include half a dozen nurse sharks, a school of sting rays and Green Sea turtles.
The Mega Resort That Has It All
Baha Mar is a glamorous multi-property destination featuring The Grand Hyatt Baha Mar, SLS Baha Mar and, in spring 2018, the Rosewood Baha Mar on New Providence in the Bahamas. The ultimate resort, you’ll find everything from a Las Vegas-style casino, multiple dining experiences, entertainment and nightlife, golf club, stunning pool and beach areas, and even fountain shows here.
Animal Encounters in the Bahamas
Although unlikely, if you run out of activities and things to do at Baha Mar, the Bahamas is a hot spot for animal lovers with excursions including swimming with pigs in the Exumas and snorkeling with nurse sharks in Compass Cay. You’ll find even more family-friendly things to do on the Grand Bahama Island, where you can explore a stunning botanical garden, get some cultural insight into the islands and lounge on a natural beach at Gold Rock Beach. Paradise found.
For all serious CFO candidates, apply for the position by February 28, 2018 on the resort’s career site.
